A delegation from Embassy of Senegal in Pretoria visited this Friday, 09/17/2021, Eaton Corporation, a world technological leader specializing in electrical and hydraulic systems.

 

 

 

VIRTUAL MEETING: Embassy of Senegal and the Department of Tourism of South Africa

As part of the preparation of the next Mixed Commission between Senegal and South Africa, a virtual meeting was held on Monday 09/13/2021 at 10:00 am between the Embassy of Senegal, the Ministry of Tourism and Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) in order to thoroughly examine the situation of cooperation between the two countries.

DIRCO INVITATION: Working breakfast with the group of Women Ambassadors in South Africa

On Friday September 10, 2021, the group of Women-Ambassadors in South Africa, was received by Dr GNM PANDOR, Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Africa, outside a working breakfast on:

  • gender equality and
  • South Africa’s agenda on this issue.

On this occasion, Senegal presented its model, in particular on parity in all elective functions, but also its progress on the education of young girls and the choice made by the government, in particular the government strategy for the promotion of young girls towards the subjects scientists.

BILATERAL COOPERATION BETWEEN SENEGAL & SOUTH AFRICA: Mr. Simphiwe from DBSA, received at the Embassy of Senegal

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Senegal and South Africa, Her Excellency Madame Safiatou NDIAYE, Ambassador of Senegal in South Africa received in audience, Mr. Simphiwe JANTJIES, Director in charge of financial institutions of the Bank of Development of Southern Africa (DBSA).

On the menu of discussions, various projects that the group intends to finance in Senegal in the following sectors:

  • Road infrastructure
  • Rural electrification
  • Refineries
  • etc.

Youth Employment: the major axes of President Macky SALL’s Emergency Plan

The emergency program for employment and socioeconomic integration of young people was validated this Thursday, April 22, 2021 by the President of the Republic, HE Mr. Macky Sall, at the end of the presidential council dedicated to it.

The program is based on three major axes: self-employment, employment and training.

The key sectors, job niches, were identified during the presidential council. They will underpin this program with a budget of 450 billion spread over three years:

 

  • in the education sector, there will be 5,000 recruitments;
  • it will be the same in the field of road maintenance and paving which will create many jobs;
  • 15,000 jobs for “subsidized jobs” through the State-employer agreement with the private sector;
  • in agribusiness, the State will inject 15 billion per year;
  • the National Agency for Integration and Agricultural Development (ANIDA) plans to create 25,950 jobs over 3 years as part of its major projects for an overall budget of 24 billion;
  • training component, it is planned to train 30,000 young people, this in addition to the 3,300 young people that Pse / Jeunes will train;
  • as part of vocational training, 40,000 young people are targeted, “20,000 taxi drivers and 20,000 training vouchers for other young people who will receive a small remuneration during the 3 years;
  • finally, the President of the Republic has decided to reinstate the obligation to wear school uniforms in schools and to propose a subsidy of 10 billion to support tailors in our country.

SENEGAL INDEPENDENCE DAY

Senegal is celebrating, this April 04, 2021, the 61st anniversary of its accession to International Souvenainity.

This celebration, placed this year under the theme: “Defense and security forces and border protection”, marks an important moment in the life of our nation.

For this purpose, Her Excellency Madame Safiatou NDIAYE, Ambassador of Senegal to South Africa, takes this opportunity to extend her warm congratulations to the entire Senegalese community living in Southern Africa.

Death of Thione Ballago SECK : Message from the Embassy of Senegal in Pretoria

The Senegalese Ambassador to Pretoria Her Excellency Madame Safiatou NDIAYE and all of her Staff present their saddened condolences to the grieving family and to the entire Senegalese nation, following the death of Thione Ballago SECK, one of the emblematic figures of the Senegalese music.

The artist passed away this Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the age of 66.
